Been Knittin

Hello, Hello, Hello,

I know it has been a while since I last made an entry but you know how it can be when you are a yarn addict like myself, I finally knitted two, that's right two pair of socks, one that won't fit me (for someone I have not decided on yet) and the other pair is for Winter when it gets cold, I will post some photos soon, I have also been bidding on ebay for what do you think.... yarn! I have some wonderful sock yarn as well as some great wool, I am so excited about my purchases. I also bidded on and purchased a new yarn winder and donated the smaller one to my knitting class at work, they were ecstatic; the class coordinator is like a junkie we have to keep reminding her to let someone else have a turn at it but she hovers like a first time mom, Rebecca is too funny.

I thought that everyone in class would like the chance to see how wonderful and easy it is to use and maybe in the future will purchase both the ball winder and the swift, they really are great tools to have when you have a ton of hanks you would like wound into balls with a center pull. I love the center pull feature, now I don't have to go searching through either end to find it. I am a happy camper.

I cannot go any further without mentioning my knitting Sensei harlempurl, I will have to find out how to place her handle on my blog so that anyone can go directly to her link which is colorful and chockful of information and wonderful pictures of her work and WIP. She and I both have discovered the art of spinning yarn from roving; she is of course so much better at it then I am because I am on a sock mission, I have started another pair and will be fininshing the pair I orignally began which I listed in my WIP.

I really have to make a concerted effort to locate my video attachments, I am so anxious to post some photos of my work and show you all how I have grown. My knitting Sensei is a wonderful and patient person, when I think she should be having her fill of me at times, she hangs right in there until I get it. (Laugh) I know I can be a pain at times with all the questions I ask, I just want to know exactly what it is I am doing at all times;( want to be control freak) you won't believe how many times I took apart the first single sock I have knitted before I actually Got It; the second sock was a literal snap to make. I will be learning different ways in which to create the heel of a sock as well as the afterthought heel which is in one of my books I will mention later along with the author. (Smile)

My yarn stash is growing exponentially I must add, I swear that it is cloning itself as it sits waiting to be knitted into one of my creations, some yarns yell out... I want to be a scarf and hat set while others say ooh, how about some gloves or mittens or how about an afghan or baby blanket or layette set or even a sweater with matching hat and scarf. I think aside from being totally in love with sock making, hats are my next to favorite item to make then scarves, blankets, afghans and leggings and the list goes on and on as you well know. I will also be trying my hand at making some toy animals, mainly the weird and strange ones; I like weird and strange. (Laugh)

I am back, I just check my ebay and I won one of my bids on some Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, 4 skeins; I paid about $4.40 per skein as opposed to $8+, that was a deal even with the s&h charge of $4.20. I am currently waiting on three other items then that is it for me for the rest of this month....for real....really I mean it....stop laughing, seriously. I have been out of control. I have won a gold star award for winning a certain amount of bids, that's disgusting isn't it? (Laugh)

I had to step away for a minute I only have 1hr left on two of the items I am bidding on and I had to increase my bid by $2 and so far I am still the highest bidder, I can't wait until this is over, the anticipation is getting to me. I will keep you posted on the outcome next time I check in and hopefully I will have a bunch of photos to show off.
