Socks Socks and more Socks

I am in love with making socks I just haven't finished a set yet but I am nearing the bottom of the leg and will keep you posted. I recently just bought some Lambs's Pride Bulky yarn for a knit along I am doing with jclane and I can't wait to get started. My husband entered the stash room and got a bit excited about the amount of yarn that was everywhere, his only beef was that it needed to be contained which was minor for him. (Smile) I really like the TLC yarn the way the colors self stripe, that is what I am using to make my socks. I also have a variety of sock yarn to create with and am looking forward to snuggling my toes into almost every pair, I will of course make some for my husband who wears a size 12 EEE shoe, I will probaly need four skeins to make one pair for him depending on the length of the ribbing. I am in dire need to felt something so I am working on a small bag to hold knitting essentials in, I will let you know how it goes.

I think I will dye some yarn proably this evening two skeins so that I can make something out of it even though I have the One Skein project book which is really great. I am going to have to pick up some more shelving for all the books and magazines that I have, they are mounting up. I have to go run my errands now so I will sign in again later and write about what I am doing and plan to do.

Yarn Patrol

I need to organize my extensive stash so that I know what I have and in what amount I have whatever it is in, not that I ever tire of purchasing yarn bite your tongue; I just want to move up the scale a bit not to yarn snobbery but in the vicinity there of. (Smile) I purchased some cashmere and it is so lovely, I just love sitting around petting it its so luxurious. I even have some Alpaca go figure, what it wants to be has not come to me yet I have so many ideas of what I would like to do but the thing now is to match the idea with the yarn; I will have to mull that one over!

I finally pulled out my camera and emptied the memory chip, now the battery is dead and I have to recharge it or find the plug if I want to use it. I am being undermined here and I really feel the need to expose myself for the yarn junkie that I am, once you see my stash which I am sure is not impressive but maybe for someone who is not walking around in a daze thinking of new places where she can find yarn; I am sure I will feel less guilty for having as much as I do once I have been exposed (deep sigh) what a relief just getting that out. (Laugh)

I am learning new techniques in knitting and how to use cable needles and how to knit a hat in the round using two colors so that one color appears on one side and the second on the other side; I am having a ball. I am constantly fighting with myself to finish the (10) projects that I have floating in the air before I start a new one or come across one I didn't mention which will probably be the case more times then I care to mention so pray for me.

Let's not even begin to talk about the books and magazine collection I have, we will save that discussion for later...

I am going to go work on the little girl bag now and I am seriously considering dyeing some yarn tomorrow and possibly arranging to take a class on dyeing yarn at Michael's, the instructor used Wilton's cake icing, can you imagine; we'll discuss this extensively later after I have taken the class. I have a 40% coupon for anything in A.C. Moore's arts and crafts store and I have been eyeing some highend yarn, and looking for a book ; I have decided on the yarn.

Talk to you about it later!!!!

I Fell Off My Yarn Diet! This Is The Reason Why!

This is what happened on my way home from work Friday by myself , I ran into a bad traffic jam, as I inched my way home I thought what I can do to kill some time and then I remembered the 40% off coupon from Micheal's in my wallet and the fact that I was originally going to stop off and pay a bill in the vicinity so I went to Michael's with the intention of just looking for a book I was interested in, Nicky Epstein's knitted flowers; something like that, well I wandered over to the clearance aisle, a pet peeve of mine when entering a store of any kind and low and behold what do I see, YARN! Yikes, I hit the pay load! Lionbrand's Colorwaves was on sale from $5.99 to $3.00 in about (4) different shades, well the yarn junkie that I am went into full mode and I bought (6) skeins not to mention some Caron I had my eyes on. I can't help myself, I suffer from YAS (Yarn Acquisition Syndrome) I know at least one other person that has it but not as badly as I do unless she is not telling me about her secret purchases. (Hmmm!) Is there anyone else out there that can relate?

I am new at this blogging so give me some time to get the hang of it. I have knitted quite a few things and will be submitting photos as soon as I get my office back together, after I have finished painting. I am currently working on a poncho for a 1yr. old girl and it's in Caron's Simply soft light yellow, very soft and cute; I will take a picture of it and let you see how I did' it is my own design in that I chose the stitch to use and decided on the style I wanted.

Flash your Stash, I missed out on that; I don't think I would have had enough time to get my stash together for the photo in time anyway, I have yarn hidden all over the house in boxes, lots of bags, bins and closets; if my husband only knew he would probably make me pay him a storage fee. (LOL) Thank God he doesn't go into the spare room! Whew! I can go on and on but I want to get back to my what......., you guessed it, knitting! Write back and let me know how I am doing from time to time.
